Institute of Environmental Sciences Doctoral Candidate Receives Dual Awards at TEKNOFEST 2025

It is with great pleasure that we announce a significant achievement by Aslıhan Yesir, a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Environmental Sciences. At the recent TEKNOFEST 2025, Ms. Yesir's project, titled "Chromalg," was recognized with two distinguished awards.

The project introduces a novel method for treating textile industry wastewater with microalgae. This process not only results in purified water but also enables the production of natural dyes from the resultant biomass, offering a sustainable and economically valuable contribution to the industry.

Competing against over 14,600 submissions, "Chromalg" was awarded First Place in the Environment Category of the Environment and Energy Technologies Competition and also received the special Commercialization Potential Award.
